2006-2007 Christmas Bird Counts

Pawling Bird Count
January 2, 2007

This count, usually held on New Year's Day, was delayed a day because of inclement weather. The circle includes eastern Dutchess north to Wingdale, bounded on the west by Poughquag and Greenhaven. In addition, the northern portion of Putnam County, including Kent, Carmel, and Patterson, is part of the circle, as are Sherman, parts of New Milford, and Danbury, CT.

This year 30 birders spent 105 hours counting birds under clear skies with a temperatures ranging from 39° to 46°F.

Angela Dimmitt compiled the Connecticut results; Carena Pooth handled the New York count.
